In an effort to kick things up a notch for the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, the automaker is offering a more powerful engine option for some 2015 models. The new 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is rated at 168 horsepower—a full 20 horsepower more than the standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine puts out.
According to autoblog.com, Mitsubishi will offer the more powerful engine in two trims: the 2.4 ES or the 2.4 GT. The 2.4 ES is the lower level trim, starting at $21,295, it comes with a black center bumper to differentiate it from the standard (2.0-liter engine) ES.
The 2.4 GT starts at $23,595, and is differentiated from the standard GT by the same black center bumper along with outside mirrors that feature LED turn indicators and black roof rails. Additionally, the 2.4 GT gets a power driver’s seat, aluminum pedals, and a leather-wrapped parking brake handle.
A GT Premium Package adds an upgraded stereo, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and moonroof. But if you’re looking for true luxury, choose the GT Touring Package, which comes with leather seats and a seven-inch navigation system.
