2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV saw a few delays, but now the model is well on its way to North American shores. With the official debut date now past, the automaker has something else to celebrate. With more than 100,000 models sold in Europe, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV takes the title of best-selling plug-in hybrid SUV.
The upcoming Outlander PHEV crossover, available at Biggers Mitsubishi, is the only model in the segment to offer a hybrid powertrain. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is mated to two electric motors for optimized efficiency. In total, the powertrain delivers 197 horsepower.
In addition to its efficient powertrain, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV includes the brand’s Super All-Wheel Control system; DC Fast Charging capability comes standard as well.
“The Outlander PHEV has been a game-changer for the brand since its launch in the European market, and we’re extremely proud of the industry strides it’s made ever since,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president and chief operating officer, MMNA.
With the introduction of the Outlander PHEV to the United States market, Mitsubishi looks to continue its reign as the fastest growing non-luxury brand in the country. With affordable pricing and all the capability of a crossover, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is bound to continue the brand’s success.
