Sometimes less is more, and such is proving to be the case as Mitsubishi narrows their focus onto their Outlander lineup. These sophisticated SUVs have quite a bold presence in their class, and are proving to be worth the time and attention that the Mitsubishi name is putting towards them.
The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in particular is proving to be a best-selling choice for small families and those looking for a versatile performance. As the smaller version of the Outlander, the 2017 Outlander Sport is more compact and thus easier to maneuver in crowded city driving or tight parking spaces, and is also exceptionally efficient at 30 mpg highway*. Even so, the Outlander Sport still gives a powerful performance.
Mitsubishi’s 2017 Outlander lineup gets updates across the board, with improvements in handling, design, and technologies. The Outlander Sport now features elegant details like LED taillights, a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and 18-inch alloy wheels, all of which help this vehicle to both stand apart from its competitors and its earlier iterations.
If you’re ready to take a closer look at one of the best compact SUVs on the market, and a favorite among Mitsubishi fans everywhere, stop by Biggers Mitsubishi today to set up a test drive in the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

Whether you’re setting out on your road trip tomorrow or you aren’t going until July, it’s never too early or too late to implement some helpful hacks into your agenda to reduce your stress levels. Here are some of our favorite road trip tips.
First of all, you want to keep yourself and your passengers entertained on the drive, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Pre-load your mobile devices with apps, games, and videos—unless your car has a mobile hotspot, in which case you don’t have to worry about it.
Check out books for the kids and audiobooks for you to listen to on the drive from your local library. Another way to keep kids occupied is to get a map that will span your whole trip, laminate it, and have your kids follow along with marker so they can see your progress.
Keep your car clean and organized with easy food storage tricks, like keeping celery or pretzels in a half-empty jar of peanut butter, putting dry snacks in old coffee creamer bottles, and using a plastic cereal container as a small trashcan.
You should also download apps that will make your trip easier, like the SitOrSquat app that helps you find clean places to use the restroom and GasBuddy, which compares area gas prices and helps you find the cheapest ones.
These are just a few hacks to improve your road trip—find even more here. And if you’re looking for the perfect summer road trip car, stop by Biggers Mitsubishi today!

- Blanket/Clothes – Having an extra set of clothes is particularly important, especially if you plan on getting dirty to begin with. Drivers in colder climates will benefit from warm clothes and a blanket in the even that they break down on the side of the road. An extra set of clothes could also help in non-emergency situations as well.
- Flashlight and Batteries – Getting caught in the dark isn’t ideal for anyone, especially if you have a problem with your vehicle’s charging system. Stow a flashlight and extra batteries, just in case. Being able to see and signal a passing car for help is essential for any modern driver.
- Medical Supplies – Patching up a small wound, even temporarily, could stave off an emergency until you reach a doctor. Include gauze, bandages, pain relievers, and hand sanitizer in your first aid kit in case someone does get injured on the road.
Mitsubishi has been teasing a new SUV since January and now it’s finally arrived! The Japanese automaker showed off the 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross at the Geneva Motor Show. The Eclipse Cross boasts a sporty, streamlined design and is a prime example of just what Mitsubishi’s designers are capable of.
While it bears the name of the automaker’s discontinued sports car, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will have a slot between the Outlander Sport and Outlander models. We first saw the Eclipse Cross in the form of the XR-PHEV Concept in 2013.
The all-new SUV boasts a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission that churns out 160 hp. Drivers can also opt for a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission instead. That engine, along with a PHEV powertrain, will launch later on.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will come with four-wheel drive and Active Yaw Control, a performance feature that launched on the Lancer Evolution sedan.
The interior brings a screen on the dash with a head-up display and touchpad controller. The new SUV also features 60/40 split rear seats and an interior appointed with silver and black accents.
We here at Biggers Mitsubishi can’t wait for the arrival of the new Eclipse Cross!
Here in Illinois, winter is the harshest time of year, which is why you should be prepared with these winter accessories for your car.
Get your car warm and ready before you step inside with a remote starter. Just a few minutes of warming up and you’ll be ready to go.
If your car doesn’t already come with them, consider getting some seat warmers. They range in price from $20-$100 per seat, but can make your commute so much cozier.
Winter tires are entirely different than all-season tires. They are made with a unique rubber compound that helps them stay soft and pliable even under frigid conditions. In addition, they have unique tread patterns designed to cut through snow and slush.
Heated Wiper Blades
While they may cost more than $100 per set, they won’t get clogged with frozen snow and ice. You won’t have to pull over anymore just to maintain your visibility.
All Season Floor Mats
These heavy-duty rubber mats will help keep your carpeting clean when you’re dragging in all the snow, ice, and salt on your shoes. You can clean them easily with a simple hose down.
If you’re in the market for any of these winter accessories for your car, stop by our parts department here at Biggers Mitsubishi and we can help you out.
At the 87th Geneva International Motor Show, to be held March 7th through 19th in Geneva, Switzerland, Mitsubishi has plans to unveil a brand new addition to its lineup. This new Mitsubishi SUV will join the Outlander Sport, Outlander, and Outlander PHEV SUV models currently sold by Mitsubishi.
Mitsubishi has announced that the new vehicle will be a compact model that will have sharp styling characteristics. These will include a wedge-shaped belt line, a steeply raked rear window, a long wheelbase, and a strong character line running along the side. Together these features will give the new SUV a sort of coupe design with an active, athletic feel.
We got a glimpse of this design through a shadowy teaser image Mitsubishi previously released. But Mitsubishi didn’t announce where the new model would sit in the lineup. However, many in the industry suspect it will come in below the Outlander Sport to compete with models like the Chevrolet Trax and Honda HR-V.
As for its name, Mitsubishi hasn’t announced that either. Autoblog suspects it could wear the Eclipse name, which was last seen on the sporty compact car in 2012.
Here at Biggers Mitsubishi, we are excited to see a new model coming to the Mitsubishi lineup! We can’t wait to learn even more about it when it makes its debut next month.
Once again, Mitsubishi has raised the bar for vehicle safety with the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander, which was just named a “Top Safety Pick+” vehicle by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The new Mitsubishi Outlander Touring Package specifically earned the title, honoring the popular Outlander for the fourth year in a row. In its standard form, the new Outlander is equipped with Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring, and much more. So no matter where you go and who’s in tow, the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Safety Features will keep you covered every time.
If you upgrade to the Touring Package, you will find a long list of active safety features – from Adaptive Cruise Control to Lane Departure Warning – that continue to keep drivers safe even when they do not recognize their own danger.
Keep in mind that IIHS standards are higher than ever with new, rigorous testing standards that include the evaluation of headlights and much more. The new Mitsubishi Outlander scored nearly perfectly in every category.
When it comes to choosing your next vehicle, perhaps no factor is as important as safety. Thankfully, Mitsubishi has you covered, with the seven-passenger 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander.

Roads can be most dangerous in the winter.
Winter can be an extremely difficult time of the year for driving. Even vehicles like the Mitsubishi Outlander can experience problems on the icy roads. Meanwhile, Chicago is a city well-known for its extreme weather conditions. Therefore, you can only imagine how difficult it is to drive in the Windy City during the winter months! In order to help winter driving a little bit easier, be sure to follow these tips for winter driving in Chicago.
- Avoid Cruise Control. Usually when you get a chance to use Cruise Control in a heavily congested city like Chicago, it is quite the fortuitous occasion. However, you may want to rely upon your own ability to speed up or slow down during the winter months, especially if there is a wintry mix on the ground.
- Do Not Stop on Hills. Your commute may involve having to ascend or descend a few hills throughout the city. If you cannot avoid this, make sure you avoid stopping while climbing up the hill if possible, as your car could start to descend that hill backwards.
- Keep Gas at Least Half Full. Here at Biggers Mitsubishi, we are a group of glass half full sort of people, so we are optimistic about driving this winter. Nevertheless, you may want to keep your gas tank at least half full at all times, just in case you need an extra heat source on the road if you become stranded.
