As you have probably heard, we will be saying “Bon Voyage” when the last Mitsubishi Lancer rolls off production lines in August, as Mitsubishi will be discontinuing the cult classic car in favor of an SUV strategy. While we at Nissan of Lumberton are sad to see the Lancer go, we’ve recently learned that Mitsubishi will offer a final 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Limited Edition to say goodbye.
According to The News Wheel, the special edition Lancer will slot right above the ES trim (the Lancer’s base model) and will boast a number of unique features, such as black painted exterior finished on the upper front grille garnish, roof, door mirrors, fender garnish, and the 16-inch wheels. The 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer Limited Edition will also feature a sunroom and special badging.
Inside, the Lancer Limited Edition model will get unique black fabric and red stitching for the door trim, arm rest, steering wheel, shift knob, and handbrake. Other design elements include the gloss black finishing, black headliner, and aluminum pedals, while tech features include Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility via the 6.5-inch Display Audio System.
“The Lancer has a long-standing tradition of providing consumers unparalleled value at an attractive price, so it was only fitting we pay tribute to the sedan with a Limited Edition trim offering,” remarked Don Swearingen, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Mitsubishi Motors North America. “With the addition of updated styling and advanced technology features, the Limited Edition Lancer is set to appeal to consumers who prioritize aesthetics and enjoy a connected car experience.”

Now coming with a standard rearview camera, the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer has reached a new level.
The 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer has earned a four star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), making it one of the safest new sedans on the road, adding to a long list of reasons why the new Lancer is an excellent option for any driver.
The NHTSA gave the new Lancer four stars in the front, side, and rollover tests, which simulate the cars response in the event of a collision. With these three tests, the NHTSA can accurately predict how a driver or passenger would fare if such an event would occur.
The new Mitsubishi Lancer comes standard with an impressive list of safety features, including seven airbags, a driver-side knee airbag, antilock brakes, electronic stability control, and traction control. And best of all, the model now comes standard with a rearview camera for all trim levels.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not rated the new Mitsubishi Lancer yet, but it’s safe to assume that their Mitsubishi Lancer safety rating will be similar to that of the NHTSA.
